The Franklin Electric HC Series Close-Coupled Centrifugal Pump is a heavy-duty centrifugal pump engineered for demanding commercial, industrial, and general water handling applications. Franklin Electric states that the HC Series combines heavy-duty ductile iron volutes with low NPSH characteristics, making it well suited for tough pumping conditions where reliable hydraulic performance and durability are essential.  

This rugged series was designed with serviceability in mind. Franklin Electric notes that the HC Series features a back pullout design, jack-out holes for easier service, plus a replaceable shaft sleeve and bronze wear rings to support long-term maintenance and reduced wear in critical components.  

For hydraulic efficiency, the HC Series uses an enclosed impeller design and Franklin specifies CA6NM stainless steel impellers with internal hydraulic balancing to help reduce bearing load. The series is also available in either packed box with lantern ring or mechanical seal construction with silicon carbide/silicon carbide faces and FKM elastomers, allowing configuration flexibility based on application requirements.  

Franklin further indicates that the HC Series can be supplied with ODP or TEFC motor configurations, and that the volute can be rotated for easier installation.
