Technical Product Description:
The Franklin Electric FNSGF Gas Engine Driven Self-Priming Pump is a heavy-duty, gas engine driven self-priming pump designed for reliable liquid transfer in field applications where electric power is unavailable or impractical. Franklin Electric states that the FNSGF Series is an ideal choice for water transfer applications and temporary irrigation, and also lists the series for irrigation, construction, mining, commercial, municipal, and light industrial service.
The pump features a cast iron volute with rugged construction and tapped openings for priming, venting, and draining, helping support easier startup and routine service. For higher pressure applications, Franklin specifies an enclosed cast iron impeller, which helps provide dependable hydraulic performance in demanding portable pumping duties.
Franklin also lists a standard mechanical seal built with carbon/ceramic faces, FKM elastomers, and 300 series stainless steel components. Depending on model, the FNSGF Series is available with Honda, Briggs & Stratton, or Kohler gasoline engines equipped with adjustable throttle controls, and the pumps are designed for horizontal mounting.
Franklin’s published order information shows at least two standard FNSGF configurations: the FNSGF-5H with a 160 cc Honda engine and 2” suction x 2” discharge, and the FNSGF-8H with a 270 cc Honda engine and 2.5” suction x 2” discharge. Franklin also publishes a 200°F temperature rating and clockwise rotation when facing the shaft for these listed models. Final engine size, connection size, and operating characteristics depend on the exact model selected.
